Giving Thanks: 20 Things to be thankful for in 2020

Uncategorized

Hey, y'all! Just a heads up that there are affiliate links in this post. Which means that I will receive a small fee if you click on the link and buy the product or service. Read more here.

This year has been a trying and challenging year for the collective world, not just me. This is the time of year when we need to dig deep and find those things worth giving thanks for in our lives. Here are the 20 things that I am thankful for in 2020. Drop me a line or comment below with the things you are thankful for this year!

Top 20 things that I am giving thanks for the 2020 edition!

People

#1 Myself! I have made some amazing strides this year in my journey.

#2 Joni Kinney, from Inspire @ Kinney Chaos. She is my go-to-gal for a voice of reason or a swift kick in the rear.

#3 Windy Lawson, a business coach with awesome-sauce ideas and BIG heart.

#4 Elizabeth Dukart, The Well Prepared Mom brings sweetness to any day – – with a big dose of #JerseyGirl.

#5 Katie Guenther, email and social media badass and a fab human, too!

#6 Toree Vela, a heart of gold, a warrior for change, and ready to help you dip into some self-care love.

#7 My family! My daughter is my “why” and my parents help us so many ways. Without them all this year would have sucked.

#8 Friends like family. They don’t all have businesses, share the same zip code as me, or even a lot of true shared history but the friends in my phone and online are some of the most amazing women!

Things

#9 Bullet journaling! Y’all, I am in love with my #bujo if you haven’t noticed from all the posts. Ha!

#10 Running! I have run, run, run my way to a new level of personal fitness. Plus it has been a sanity saver, too.

#11 Cognitive behavior therapy. Mental health has always been an adventure for me but this year I found an amazing therapist and a type of therapy that has worked wonders for me. #5StarsHighlyRecommendCBT

#12 Coffee. It is life. It is necessary. It is tasty!

#13 Blogging. This is my creative outlet, my business, my way to share my favorite tools, a guide to advise you what tools and shiny objects to avoid. A bonus giving thanks is also Siteground, my hosting company that gives me amazing service all around, interested in creating your own site? Let’s talk!

#14 The Busy Llama Book Club. Do we always talk about the book? Nope. Do we have a great time though? Yep!

#15 Hammocks! They are comfy, portable, and necessary to live your best life. EVER!

Places

#16 Indianapolis! I am certainly giving thanks for our move here, it has so many great things and a fab quality of life.

#17 McCormick’s Creek State Park. Just a quick ride from downtown Indy this is a fabulous day trip or extended camping adventure #fanfav for my sidekick and me.

#18 IUPUI. I love my grad school program and the opportunities it has presented me with this year. I am 100% a lifelong learner and glad I found a great place to keep learning.

#19 Zoom! Yes, I know it isn’t a real “place,” but this is where I get to see all the people in my life this year with a global pandemic and all that jazz.

State of mind

#20 Independence. We don’t have to be tethered to people, ideas, or things that hold us back. This is a year that brought about a lot of different, scary, weird, powerful, many more adjectives stuff. I have learned that I do not have to carry it all or stay tied to things that bring me down. I look forward to what the next year brings and look back on 2020 giving thanks for all the good, bad, and really freaking ugly stuff.

Giving thanks is a little bit different this year. It has been a lot of ugly and this beautiful undercurrent of change that might just make us all a bit more thankful.

That’s a wrap!

Like I said at the very top of this list, drop me a line or comment below to let me know something that you are giving thanks for this year. I look forward to hearing your celebratory badass successes and joyous shouts.

And remember, if there isn’t much to give thanks for this year that “this too shall pass” and I send my love and hope for better days. <3
